DnG
Rapper en producer DNG (Dedicated N Galvanic) is geboren en getogen in Den Haag, tweede helft jaren ’70.
De interesse in Hip Hop begon bij DNG in de mid jaren ‘80 door toedoen van zijn oudere broer. Destijds eveneens aangegrepen door de nieuwe muziekvorm en daarmee gepaarde dansstijl, duurde het niet lang voordat zijn broer ook begon met breakdancen en videobanden van Beatstreet/Breaking en vinyl platen met de nieuwste dancetunes mee naar huis bracht.
Zelf meer geïnteresseerd in beats & rhymes, werd de drang om zelf muziek te gaan maken en teksten te schrijven aangewakkerd na het horen van NWA’s album Straight Outta Compton. Toen daarbij ook nog eens Yo! MTV Raps op de Nederlandse beeldbuis verscheen was het voor DNG duidelijk: hij moest en zal een rapper worden!
Geïnspireerd door artiesten als NWA, Ice-T, Run-DMC, Digital Underground, The D.O.C., Public Enemy, Geto Boys, EPMD, Cypress Hill, Too $hort begon DNG op zijn 14e met het schrijven van teksten en maken van eigen beats.
Naast DNG waren er in Den Haag velen met hem bij wie ook de vlam was ingeslagen en was er in de jaren ‘90 een actieve underground scène waar DNG als snel naam maakte als member van verschillende crews. Deze crews was vaak geen lang leven beschoren totdat DNG in 1999 de krachten bundelde met drie andere rappers – tevens vrienden/buurgenoten – om de rapformatie Coup deVillz te vormen.
Als eerst geïntroduceerd aan het publiek via DNG’s demotape “Gattin’ Down” wist Coup deVillz al snel naam te maken door deel te nemen aan talentenjachten en mc battles. In 2002 bracht de groep hun debuutalbum “Chrysalis” uit die binnen de Hip Hop scène goed is ontvangen, tot nog meer erkenning en ook heeft geleid tot het verzorgen van voorprogramma’s voor The Liks, Onyx, Jeru the Damaja and rockband Di-Rect.
Alhoewel DNG’s focus hoofdzakelijk bij de groep lag, bleef hij tussen de bedrijven door ook aan eigen materie werken. In 2006 bracht DNG zijn eerste videoclip Lil Nut op youtube uit, dat door het programma URBNN werd verkozen tot de beste video-upload van het eerste seizoen. In 2007 dropte DNG via het internet “DaMiniMeMixtape”, een verzameling van nog niet eerder gebruikte rapteksten over deels bekende en eigen beats.
Genoeg materie voor een nieuw album, bracht Coup deVillz in november 2008 hun tweede en tevens laatste album “Monarchs” uit en besloot niet lang daarna in 2009 de collectieve activiteiten te staken.
Teleurgesteld, maar zeker niet teneergeslagen ging DNG na de breuk met hetzelfde enthousiasme verder met datgene hij al mee bezig was: het afronden van zijn Engelstalig debuutalbum dat in eigen beheer uitgebracht zal worden.
Als eerste wapenfeit dropte DNG in september 2010 de eerste single “oNe” en in december 2010 de tweede single “Welcome to The Hague”, tevens voorzien van een videoclip.

Steffen Morrison
Being the leading voice in Reeboks Global Campaign for their highly successful Easytone sportswear, three music videos, a semi-final contestant with “The Grote prijs van Nederland” (one of Holland’s most recognized music talent competitions) and opening act for Raul Midon (Singer-Songwriter from New Mexico). Steffen Morrison singing career has taken a steady soar. He also had airplay and several live sessions on 3FM with Giel Beelen, BNN Radio, Fun-X radio, Radio 6, Lijn5, Radio Rijnmond, BNR Radio & SlamFM.
Music played a major role in my upbringing. We had one of the biggest records collections at our place back in Paramaribo, Suriname from what I can remember. My mom and dad would buy records at any given day from all sorts of different artists. Those I remember most vividly are artists such as Otis Redding, Donny Hathaway, Curtis Mayfield, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald to name a few.
Sounds from Suriname, my birthplace, Europe my home, and of course throughout my entire existence sounds coming from the land of Pop, Jazz, Blues and Rock and Roll have inspired my songwriting.
For my debut I collaborated with top producer T. Tolsma “Dutchflower”, songwriter Bas Silos, and Brian” BigBass” Gardner for mastering who also worked with Micheal Jackson for Thriller, Eminem and Prince.
My album is about sharing, down right fun, and connecting with you by revealing as much about myself as I possible could do on this record.

Tha Quinn
Quincy J. Adolphin better known as “Tha Quinn” is unquestionably with out a doubt one of
St. Maartens most talented Artist with vocal abilities and skills like no other. Tha Quinn has
that refreshing voice like a cool ocean breeze blowing through the summers open-air. His
music has such a sensual harmonic essence that just warms your heart and Intrigues the
core of your soul. Tha Quinn is what we call today a Versatile musical-man he sings, plays
keys and produces tracks . Tha Quinn is a very hard artist to label because he does it all
from Hip-hop, R&B, Gospel, Pop, Dancehall, Reggae and Alternative Rock. He is also an
ingenious song writer who produces his own tracks. He is in the process of making a name
for himself as a singer/song writer and producer and it doesn’t stop there. Tha Quinn an
exceptional keyboard player who has done many Live performances with various bands and
artists. He also performed on open acts for well knows artists such as Yollanda Adams,
Andre Crouch, Fred Hammond, Nicole Balosingh Just to name a couple. At age 12 he started
venturing out more in his church and became the youth band leader and there is were he
discovered his vocal ability and with some encouragement and inspiration from some close
friends and musicians he gained the confidence to display his God given talent. In 1996 he
and some friends formed a gospel group name C-United(Christian United) and they went on
to become one of St. Maartens most successful Gospel Bands Ever !!! In 2002 Tha Quinn
moved to Holland along with some of the members of C-United to further his studies. He continued making his music because music is definitely one of his great loves. As he began
to venture out again he hooked up with other musicians, bands, producers and started
playing and singing with them performing at various gigs all over Holland. In 2003 Tha
Quinn entered a popular talent contest named Festival Of Rhythm were he was awarded
best act and first prize in the singing category.
He played on Hollands Radio Giant Radio 538 with a Dutch R&B group named Re-play and played keys on the Alternative rock group Intwine Album. In 2009 together with C-United, Quinn set the bar high for the category groups on the popular show of X-Factor NL, were they became the talk of the town because they were phenomenal in what they did and were eliminated by Eric van Tijn just before going to the live shows at studio 21 in Hilversum. C-United had a good year (2009) performing at popular TV shows like “Live and Cooking” and “Raymond is Laat”, many concert performances including Xnoizz, gospel concerts, Christmas tour with orchestra band and many more. After all the X-Factor frenzy, C-United is taking a bow to public performances and decide to venture into other areas of success. Even though C-United decided to step down, tha Quinn has made up his mind to continue carrying the torch.
Now as he is setting off his solo career Tha Quinn is hard at work only wanting to deliver his best, his motto is Always Deliver and for him is not only about music but the message in the music the lives he will help influence and change the young people who will look up to him, that’s why the bases for his music is inspirational, you can even say he specializes in inspirational music but with his own twist.
Rass Motivated
Rass Motivated is a young upcoming artist in Europe. His Mother and Father are from Surinam, but he was born in The Netherlands. He’s been struggling to climb up for several years as a dutch rapper, untill he recorded a reggaesong ‘Essence Of Life’ in Surinam. After that and all the good feedback he got about the song, he saw that his heart is in reggae. Rass’s father is also a famous reggaeartist in Surinam by the name of Basja Ranking so the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree indeed.
3 days after ‘Essence Of Life’ was released he had a interview at the biggest radiostation of Surinam. When he came back in the Netherlands he made Kalibwoy & Maikal X (2 Big Dutch Reggae/Dancehall Artists) hear the song and that was the start of a good business relationship and a good friendship of course. In short period he performed in Club Watt as support-act Aidonia and gave a great show in De Melkweg amsterdam. Exactly one year after the song got realeased on 25th of September he will perform in one of the biggest indoor festivals in holland with Sizzla Kalonji, Vybz Kartel, Barrington Levy, Fantan Mojah, Gyptian and Maikal X at Heinek Music Hall. Kalibwoy
2008 was the beginning of great things for KaliBwoy. Joining Jamrock Sound, one of the most promising sounds out of Europe, finds KaliBwoy blazing de crowd at some of Europe’s biggest venues. Supported by Dj’s Waxfiend, DJ MBA, Dj Jah, and host Maikal X, (formerly known as Shyrock of Postmen) KaliBwoy is most definitely on his w2008. In 2009 we find KaliBwoy opening shows for Reggae and Dancehalls finest. From Mavado to Vybz Kartel to Elephant man to Capleton and artists such as Richie Spice, Norrisman and Chezidek. ZiRe
ZiRe word gevormd door de 4 pilaren; Renato, Prokrea, back up G-Voiz & DJ Lebrute. De jongens komen allen uit Den Haag en de soundvariatie van dit fundament gaat van rauw tot melodieus, kortom zij weten aan elke muzikale invloed een eigen tint te geven zonder daarbij de luisteraars aandacht te verliezen. Deze precisie en zelfontwikkeling is wat ZiRe stuurt en voortbrengt. In het jaar 2010 heeft ZiRe zich officieel gepresenteerd aan het publiek met 2 videoclips die allebei heel goed ontvangen zijn. Daarnaast hebben ze op verschillende podia en festivals gestaan zoals, Parkpop, 12HoursofHipHop, het Paard van Troje en The Hague Festivals om maar een paar te noemen en dit alles in het eerste jaar!
Ook staan de boys in de halve finale van de grote prijs van Nederland, voor zover wij weten is dit een historisch moment, want in de voorgaande jaren wist geen enkele Haagse act zich te plaatsen voor de halve finale in de categorie Hip Hop. Tussen alle repetities en optredens door werken de jongens keihard aan hun debuut album ‘Ravage 2000ZiRe’ , het album zal in 2010 worden uitgebracht, ook staan er nog 2 clips te wachten die dit jaar nog aan het publiek zal worden voorgeschoteld. Uniek aan ZiRe is niet alleen de sound, maar ook het feit dat de jongens alles zelf doen, van promo video’s tot officiele videoclips tot fotoshoots en alles zelf mixen en aan de man brengen.

Blitz The Ambassador
Blitz the Ambassador hoorde als klein jongetje in Ghana een album van Public Enemy, dat hem vervolgens deed verhuizen naar New York om zijn eigen muziek op te nemen. Daar kwam het intelligente album Stereotype uit, een live opgenomen intrumentale test naar de grenzen van hip-hop. Classic! Na opgetreden te hebben met helden als Public Enemy, Akon en Freeway staat hij vanavond bij Sparkplug om de hip-hop te vertegenwoordigen die puur, maar dan ook puur om de muziek gaat. Kill the Stereotype.
Aisha
Als dochter van Jetty Weels, één van de zangeressen van de populaire zangroep uit de jaren 80 MaiTai, is muziek er bij Aisha, geboren en getogen in Amsterdam, met de paplepel ingegoten. Het kon daarom niet uitblijven dat zij zelf ook een muzikale carrière zou gaan vervolgen.
Het begon ‘dicht bij huis’; Aisha werd het vervangend lid van de nog altijd actieve formatie MaiTai. Hier heeft zij veel ervaring op gedaan; veel gereisd, opgetreden en heeft ze kunnen proeven van de muziekwereld. Maar het werd tijd voor Aisha om haar eigen vleugels te spreiden. Na een periode van verschillende talentenjachten en studiosessies ontmoette ze de voormalige manager van George Michael, Donavon Nelson. Onder zijn leiding startten ze de pop girlgroup ‘LaliQ’ en werkten ze o.a. met de producers van de Sugababes en met de Nederlandse producers Antoon Tolsma en Terence ‘Tye’ Esajas. De groep dreigde uit elkaar te vallen en Aisha besloot er voortijdig uit te stappen om zich te kunnen storten op haar solo carrière. Maar een ervaring die ze weer in haar zak kon steken!
Aisha ontdekte het gemis van vrouwelijke muzikanten binnen de Nederlandse hiphop scene en begon zich te richten op Nederlandstalige songwritings en featurings in deze scene. Dit leidde tot samenwerkingen met onder andere: The Opposites, Jayh en Brace.
Om wat meer persoonlijke bekendheid te genereren besloot Aisha in 2008 om mee te doen aan Idols, waar ze zich maar liefst wist te plaatsen in de top 10. Na dit avontuur vond Aisha dat het tijd was voor een album. In haar eigen gebouwde studio in haar eigen woonkamer in Diemen is Aisha hard op weg om dit te realiseren. Een Nederlandstalig album, met pop, hiphop en r&b invloeden in combinatie met een sprankelende persoonlijkheid en een eigen gevoel voor stijl… this girl will rock the scene… watch out for her. Het album wordt verwacht in het najaar van 2010.

L4 is DNA, Mic-Nif and Stemina!
DNA
Ever since birth DNA was surrounded by the vast styles of music that would be played through out his family’s household. At the age of eleven he was completely mesmerized by the hip-hop art form he heard pumping from his older brothers’ rooms. With his new found interest DNA commenced his journey to master the art of (improvisation) or better know as free styling. In 2000 he met Mic-Nif and formed the group Luminous Twinz. Two years later DNA linked up with Stamina and joined the R.O.O.O.M project, toured The Netherlands and further increased his knowledge of the music industry. Then in the beginning of 2008 DNA, Stamina and Mic-Nif rejoined forces to form the L4, (looking forward) click, with live band, fantastic fiascos and good music. DNA is now looking forward to serving the world with music from the heart driven by powerful messages. Favorite quote: “You can’t run away from yourself”, Bob Marley.
Mic-Nif
It all started in the year 2000, when Mic-Nif formed a hip hop collective called Luminous Twinz with rhyme partner DNA, which is where he began his career as an MC. In 2002, the Luminous Twinz, were the winners of the Young Creative Minds Award on MTV (NL) with the song Stolen Lives. As time passed, Mic-Nif stepped foot in the Dutch freestyle battle scene, and in 2003, he was the winner of the Main Freestyle Battle Event of The Hague, NL. In 2004, Mic-Nif began recording his debut solo album Distortion of the Truth (album released on September7, 2007), featuring artists such as Ahab, Pape Mann, Khaoz, Tommy 2 Times, and Vivian. That same year, he teamed up with a relatively well-known Hip Hop group from the Netherlands, called NuClear Family, and a year later, they released their second album Nucelar Fission where Mic-Nif played a steady role. The album was awarded best album of The Hague (NL) in 2005.
Together with the NuClear Family, Mic-Nif performed for fairly big crowds and has opened for numerous well known Hip Hop artists, namely; Guru (Gangstarr), Promoe (Loop Troop), Jus Allah (Jedi Mind Tricks), Insight, Wu Tang Killa Bees and Delinquent Habits, just to name a few. In 2006, stepped out of NuClear family and reunited with his former rhyme partner DNA and Mental Stamina (from the band R.O.O.O.M.) and created a new live Hip Hop band called L4 (Looking 4ward). At the moment, L4 is busy recording their first album ‘Counting Coins’ and taking on large festivals in the Netherlands. In addition, Mic-Nif has performed on numerous large stages in different cities throughout the Netherlands (Park Pop Festival 2006 and 2008, Koninginnenach The Hague 2006 and 2008, Pure Jazz Festival 2008, Grote Prijs ZH 2005, The Hague Hip Hop Festival 2004 – 2008, Haschiba Festival 2006 and 2008, Paard van Troje, Melkweg, Asta, 013, LVC, Night Town and many more). Furthermore, he has appeared on MTV (NL), TV West, Juize FM (Radio 538), Den Haag FM, to only name a few.
Stamina
Mental Stamina born, was born in Angola and as a young boy he always felt good about any audience. Early on his family felt that his social skills extended that of other kids his age. He also enjoyed playing Soccer, Basketball, and Karate and God know what else. When he came to The Netherlands in 1999, he was studying and playing Soccer. Fortunately people from a known group of artists approached him to join a theater piece. The first milestone of his career had been launched. The second one was coming when he joined the acclaimed pop band R.o.o.o.m. .Together they recorded and released one album entitled” First Chapter”. The album was recognized and appreciated by various media and the people. Despite the success Stamina felt his artistic drive turning in a new direction. That energy fueled the formation of The Hague’s acclaimed Hip Hop band L4, as in “looking 4ward”. L4 consist also of two other exceptional MC’s, namely DNA and Mic Nif. After only one year together they have proven on numerous big stages how to deliver sounds, smash crowds, and magically amaze and inspire people. Their first CD “Counting Coins”, including their hit material songs, like “One of those days” and “That Funk” will be available soon. This is merely the beginning of a straight on success story.

Punky Donch
A few years ago deep down in a small bar in down town Amsterdam a couple of friends who were meeting each other every weekend decided to create an live music night.It was until a cold winter night after a jam session they decided to start a band and Punky Donch was what they called it. Since that day the music industry has encountered itself with a whole new breath. They called it Gangsta Reggae. On that cold December night they decided to go and do something together,… make some music. Music that comes right from the heart.
Awa Ras the lead singer, a talented young upcoming star hypnotizes you with his unique vocals. Next to him we have Don Dutch with his profound deep bass voice that will thrill your heart. Juicing up the beats is Von Rast on the bass guitar making you move to his island groove. Leading the guitars is Nando beach who surfs his way through the sweet sound of his guitar. Amel Eiland and Elevation
Amel Eiland and Elevation is a supremely tight and profoundly funky seven piece live band led by singer, composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist Amel Eiland. His music grows out of an eclectic background of Funk, Jazz, Soul, and Hip-Hop influences, among others. These diverse musical elements combine organically in ‘Amel Eiland and Elevation,’ creating music that channels the energy and spirit of a golden age of dance grooves while remaining highly contemporary. In an age dependent on computers, DJs, and samples, Amel Eiland and Elevation are a rare return to the old school tradition of P Funk, and Earth Wind and Fire; they can rock a dance floor LIVE. In 2004, Amel Eiland relocated to the Netherlands from his home in East Lancing, Michigan, USA (right next door to the Motor City, Detroit, home of some of America’s richest musical history). There he assembled a musically and internationally diverse group of top flight musicians to form Elevation. With this band, Eiland skillfully orchestrates his compositions with his own soulful vocals, punchy horns, percussive and psychedelic guitar and synth, warm analog keyboards, and a deeply grooving rhythmic foundation of bass and drums.

GMB
Geboren en getogen in hartje Rotterdam ’84 aan de West Kruiskade waar deze Kaapverdiaanse jongen op zestien jarige leeftijd spelenderwijs teksten (Engelstalig) begon te schrijven voor de hiphop groep ‘Dutch Conspiracy’. Een groep die sinds het schrijven van hun eerste teksten al op podium stond. Onlangs zijn ze tweede geworden bij de Grote Prijs van Zuid Holland.
Op achttien jarige leeftijd stopt Gery Mendes, allias GMB met school om alleen nog maar muziek te maken. Terwijl hij bezig is met kleine hiphoptheater projecten word hem aangeraden auditie te doen voor Theatergezelschap Rotterdams Lef. Een gezelschap dat zowel voor scholen als in theaters speelt.
Drie jaar later? Zes producties achter de rug waarvan de laatste ‘Nomads’ grotendeels zelf gemaakt is met gast acteur/ MC Menzi Biyela uit Zuid Afrika. Al jaren laat Gery zich gelden op open mics, werkt hij aan verschillende muziek projecten en presenteert hij aardig wat evenementen (Urbantown, Bassline ).
Naast MC-ing is hij ook bezig om zijn zang kwaliteiten verder te ontwikkelen en is dat allemaal nog niet genoeg maakt hij ook nog zijn eigen beats. Kortom een echte ‘doe het zelf-er’. Een van zijn grootste optredens vond plaats in 2004, waarbij hij met het HipHopHuis een voorprogramma voor Warchild verzorgde in Ahoy voor ruim tien duizend man.
Zijn muziek is het best te omschrijven als soulfullrawhiphop. Melodieuze zang refreinen gecombineerd met diepe maar toch toegankelijke teksten waar een ieder op kan bewegen. De onderwerpen die hij aankaart komen net als zijn inspiratie voort uit het dagelijks leven. Een geboren entertainer die geniet van iedere seconde op het podium. Een bron van skills, spontaniteit en energie. On behalf of GMB Welcome 2 My World.
Jimmy G
Jimmy G werd in 1986 geboren onder een Haags dak, op een herfstachtige dag. Als kleine jongen was het al duidelijk: Jimmy, dat is een jongen van ’t volk. Met zijn kwajongensuiterlijk, maar toch gegoede karakter, tekent hij een beeld van een jongen, die groepen jongeren die vaak moeilijk te bereiken zijn, weet aan te spreken. Zijn teksten zijn dan ook oprecht, emotioneel en herkenbaar.
Eigenlijk was het uiteenvallen van de Groen-Gele Click, het startsignaal voor
de carrière van Jimmy G. Met Dj Special O begon hij in 2005 aan de 2-delige mixtape: Haagsch Straatnieuws. De 2 tapes werden zeer goed ontvangen. In 2007 scoorde Jimmy G een kleine hit met : Binnen ft. Tim en Dennis T. De videoclip haalde zelfs de hoge rotatie bij TMF pure en belandde op de Topnotch-verzamelaar: Homegrown. De Borderline Ep liet vervolgens niet lang op haar wachten. In de winter, van een succesvol 2007, kwam de EP uit via het label: Ancilla Music. Jimmy G won verschillende talentenjachten en werd 2e gedurende de Grote Prijs van Zuid-Holland 2008. Mede door het vertrek bij Ancilla Music heeft het nog 2 jaar geduurd, voordat het debuutalbum (De Verlossing) het licht eindelijk te zien kreeg.

Joe Kickass
Uit het koude grijze Zoetermeer, een plek die niet snel geassocieerd word met creativiteit, komt de nieuwe hiphopheld Joe Kickass om ‘s lands lat te verleggen. Joe is een 24 jarige “regular Joe” met veel talenten en een grote passie voor hiphop en het maken van illustraties. Met een flinke dosis jazz in zijn opvoeding begon hij lyrics te schrijven op zijn 15e en beats te maken met 17. Op 18 jarige leeftijd stopte Joe met school en focuste hij zich volledig op zijn muziek en designs. Na een goed ontvangen demo online te hebben gedropt werd hij opgemerkt door het Amsterdamse producersteam Killing Skills die werken met mensen als M.O. & Brakko, Perry Mystique en Steen & Spinal. Ze bundelden hun krachten en zijn nu samen bezig aan het eerste full length album van Joe. Het album begint inmiddels alle kenmerken van een modern classic te krijgen en bevat collabs met vooruitstrevende artiesten als Arts The Beatdocter, Port Format en trompettist Thomas Wessel. Gefrustreerd door het grootste deel van de hedendaagse scene zet Joe alle accessoires aan de kant en brengt hij hiphop terug naar de basis. Soms is de sound rugged, andere keren weer smooth maar altijd stampvol met soul en jazz. Joe complementeert deze beats met zijn rauwe lage stem, gedreven scherpe teksten en strakke flow.
Smiley
Smiley was born on the beautiful island of Aruba as Tavis Nedd in 1980. He has been making music since he was seventeen years old. He moved to The Netherlands in 2000, where he started touring with the popular Dutch reggaeband band Out of Many for three years. After that Smiley formed his own band and as from 2004 Smiley performed at several Dutch festivals and venues in Holland such as UITmarkt, Reggae on the Beach, Pleasure Easter Party and Gospelfestival. Smiley has started a more international career since 2007 by performing in Germany for example the Popkomm Music Conference in Berlin, Club Yaam (Berlin) and Club Bahia (Aruba). His first single “Tomorrow” had quite a lot of airplay on various radiostations in Holland, Aruba and Belgium and the musicvideo of this song reached a number three position in the reggaechart of Dutch musictelevision The Box in the first two weeks. From then on Smiley’s music has been played on radiostations in Aruba, Surinam, Germany, Belgium and some local radiostations in the United States. A collaboration between Smiley and Surinam band Ondrofeni resulted in a unique song called Wailing Home; a combination of reggae and the Surinam music-style Kawina. On September 2nd 2008 this song was released on a compilation-album called “I believe in Amsterdam”. Recently Smiley travelled to Jamaica to work with great producers and musicians such as Barry ‘o Hare and Altafaan Records. As a result he recorded a new song with Junior Kelly The video of “Dem a Wonder” has been released on YouTube on November 10th 2008 and is set to be a hitsong. It’s being aired by Reggae Entertainment Television and Tempo TV and is being played on the biggest reggae radiostation in the world Irie FM.
D-Felic
D-Felic begon met plaatjes op de platenspeler van papa en met blokfluit les. 24 jaar later is daar zijn eerste eigen plaat. Daartussen zitten jaren van spelen in bandjes op grote podia en ranzige cafeetjes, heel veel DJ optredens all over the world en vele uren maken in zijn thuis studio. De komende tijd wil D-Felic naast zijn bekende eclectische DJ optredens ook veel gaan optreden met zijn live-set die meer de nadruk legt op electronic soul,brokenbeat en deep house en zal voornamelijk eigen werk zijn. D-Felic started playing records on his dad’s turntable and recorder lessons. 24 years thereafter his debut album will be released this all after playing in bands in every place you can think of, DJ gigs all over the world and so many hours in his homestudio. Besides this well-know eclectic DJ gigs, D-Felic wants to do more gigs with his one-man-live-set-up. This will contain more of electronic soul, brokenbeat ad deephouse and basically own material. Evita
Evita is geboren op 8 oktober 1986 in Suriname en groeide op in Nederland. Al op jonge leeftijd zong ze. Eerst de Surinaamse liedjes die haar grootmoeder haar leerde, daarna R&B, pop en gospel. Toen ze zes jaar oud was, leerde ze viool spelen. Na acht jaar viool gespeeld te hebben, bleek haar liefde voor het zingen sterker te zijn dan haar liefde voor de viool. Zij startte toen met zanglessen. Na twee jaar veranderde ze van zanglerares. Toen ze 18 jaar oud was, was zij ervan overtuigd dat haar toenmalige zanglerares noch haar behoeften noch haar nieuwsgierigheid voor verdere exploratie kon bevredigen. Ze besloot dat zij een Amerikaanse jazzvocalist als lerares moest hebben. Het werd Deborah Carter. In die zelfde tijd, begon zij pianolessen te nemen. Evita’s multiculturele achtergrond (Chinees, Creools, Hindostaans, Libanees en Schots) heeft ongetwijfeld ervoor gezorgd dat zij zich laat inspireren door verschillende muziekstijlen. Zij houdt van pop/urban, R&B, gospel, salsa en reggaeton – ook om te dansen – en dancehall, maar ook merengue, bossanova en Mexicaanse mariachi. Het meeste zingt ze jazz of cross over jazz. Evita is naast zangeres ook componist en tekstschrijver. Haar liedjes zijn gebaseerd op eigen ervaringen. Evita heeft een eigen stemgeluid, warm, donker en kleurrijk.
Ella Fitzgerald is Evita’s favoriete jazzvocalist. Zij bewondert haar vooral omdat zij zingt vanuit het diepste van haar ziel en haar geïmproviseerde scat solos. Andere vocalisten die haar inspireren, zijn Denise Jannah, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughn, Carmen McRae, Eartha Kitt, Eva Cassidy, Nat King Cole en Brook Benton.

April Darby
De Haagse R&B, pop/soul zangeres April Darby is nu zo’n 5 jaar professioneel bezig met optredens en zichzelf verder te ontwikkelen. Sinds 2008 werk ze intensief samen met producers Ronno Osipow en Romagna Sasabone aan haar eigen repertoire. April Darby is ambitieus en wil ook internationaal met haar nieuwe repertoire gaan scoren. Haar geboorteland Amerika staat daarom ook zeker op het verlanglijstje. Ze heeft in 2006 al ervaring opgedaan in Atlanta en nummers opgenomen met een Amerikaanse producer.

Kubus&BangBang
Kubus, the only beat maker that can truly boast being a pioneer of creating “Dutch HipHop”, the rest use classical methods, so are recreating existing styles already created in America. Styles with Dutch language placed on top in American rhythm structures become only Dutch karaoke of the Bronx phenomena.
BangBang appeared in the shape of an acapella mp3 after hearing Kubus beats on the tv and finding his website. BangBang uses “London city speak” designed for privacy around police observation. His rhythm format was inspired by his irregular heart beat, he heard on a hospital heart monitor machine, trying to survive a punctured lung he received while being out numbered in a knife fight. BangBang who is a supporter of his friend Trickies (Massive Attack) “Brown Punk” movement believes innovation and originality is the true rule of HipHop and believes “Learning Curve” (The Kubus and BangBang album) is a true exhibition of it. Guess what the first single is called? “U ain’t like me”. Kubus says: “To date this is some of my greatest work, don’t ask me about my past or my future, my focus is this album and this talented nutter called BangBang. He’s my discovery and I believe in this collaboration. I won’t stop pushing it till you all agree my instincts were right.
